The Exchange Server 2013 backup is similar to Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 except that Exchange Server 2013 does not allow to restore single items!
Therefore the restore selection cannot allow to restore single items. The finest granularity for Exchange Server 2013 restore is a mailbox folder. Since SEP sesam version 4.4.1 it is possible to restore a mailbox folder into a newly created folder (relocation) or the original folder.
Supported Versions: From Exchange Server 2013 SP1 to Exchange Server 2013 CU9
Major changes
- Public Folder Backup and Recovery
- The MS Exchange 2013, opposite to previous versions, has changed the architecture of the store. And according to these changes the public folder databases are no longer available, however public folders are used instead. But now they are stored in the specific mailboxes instead of the public folder database. So, SEP backup solution for Exchange 2013 allows to browse and recover the public folders within specific mailboxes.
- Retrieving backed up items of Archive Mailbox Databases
- The browsing of archive exchanged mailboxes has been added.
