Creating a new Drive Group
It's recommended to create new Drive-Group to which RDX Drive will be added. To do this go to Components->Drives and create a new drive group called "RDX" with the "New Group" Button:
Linux
Device configuration
Before beeing able to configure the RDX Drive on Linux, you have to check which device Name is used for the RDX Drive. If you attach the RDX Drive to the Linux-System, most distributions will automatically mount it in /media/
In case this is not happening, please check vai the "dmesg" command, which device is used for the RDX Drive (usually /dev/sdXX)
It is absolutely necessary that each time if you change the RDX drive is detected with the same Device Name - this can be done with a so called UDEV Rule.
It is also recommended to format the inserted "RDX Tapes" with a common Linux File System (ext3/reiserfs/xfs)
Adding a new drive on Linux Systems
The Drive on Linux Systems is added with the Following Options:
Drive : Just like shown in this screenshot:
Options:
Path for removable Media: device name of your RDX Drive (See Device configuratiopn) Device Path: mountpoint where the Media will be mounted Auto Unload: yes Mount Command: mount Umount command: umount Eject command: eject
After adding the drive continue with the General steps.
Windows
Adding a new drive on Windows Systems
After the Drive-Group has been created, continue with adding a new Drive to the group. Do this by choosing the Drive Group and hitting the "New Drive" Button. The Drive should have the following settings:
Drive:

If not, please create it with the following options:
Add Media to Mediapool
After these steps have been done, it is now time for adding your first RDX Media to the Mediapool. In "Components-> Media pools" choose the created Media-Pool "RDX-Pool" and hit the "New Media" Button.
Add the RDX Drive currently inserted with the Following options:
Repeat this step for all your RDX changable Medias you have!
