SEP AG has discontinued support for obsolete SEP sesam versions. Instructions are still available for these SEP sesam products, however, SEP AG accepts no responsibility or liability for any errors or inaccuracies in the instructions or for the incorrect operation of obsolete SEP sesam software. It is strongly recommended that you update your SEP sesam software to the latest version. For the latest version of SEP sesam documentation, see documentation home.

Overview

SEP sesam offers a set of options that allow you to get an overview of your data store and tune it (e.g., resize it, add a drive ...) to suit your storage needs. You can search for data stores and save sets, and check media related events. You can review these options by selecting a data store and clicking Properties.

Note:

Make sure that the capacity of your data store is configured correctly. For details on how the size is calculated, see How do I calculate the data store capacity?

Steps

  1. In the Main selection -> Components -> Data store, double-click the data store for which you want to review its Properties. A data store window with four tabs is displayed.

  3. The Properties tab provides different configuration options, which you can modify. For their meaning, see How to set up a DataStore 4.4. The buttons in the lower left corner allow you to create and delete drive, create new media pool, and delete a data store.

  5. The Save sets tab provides overview of all data store related save sets. The table has the following columns: task, sesam date, count, save set ID, status (successful or error), start and end time, level (backup level), data size, original save set, media pool, EOL (until which date the save set is protected), client, last full backup, event-related message (e.g., backup completed successfully, migration finished successfully ...), and locked.
