5 1 0:HPE StoreOnce Restore
Overview
You can use HPE StoreOnce Catalyst stores as backup storage to safely store and retrieve your business data. Restoring from HPE StoreOnce Catalyst store is the same as a regular file system restore.
SEP sesam does not differentiate between Si3 and HPE StoreOnce stores and treats backup data on backup repositories based on HPE StoreOnce Catalyst stores the same as backup repositories based on other types of storage, such as local disks.
HPE StoreOnce Catalyst store backups and replications can be used for various restores, depending on the options provided by SEP sesam: restoring entire VM, virtual disks, single file restore (SFR), etc. Note, however, that HPE StoreOnce limits the number of concurrently open files. Due to this limitation, single file restore by using mount may be limited. Refer to the HPE StoreOnce documentation for the values that apply to the specific model.
There are two ways to restore your data from HPE StoreOnce Catalyst store in SEP sesam:
- via the intuitive Restore Assistant web interface (see Restore Assistant) or
- via the GUI restore wizard (see Standard Restore Procedure).
Scheduling restore is only supported in GUI mode, where a restore task can be scheduled like any other task. If you want to add a restore task to the schedule, see Scheduling Restore.
Monitoring restore
You can monitor the restore progress using the Web UI (Monitoring -> Restores) or view the status in the GUI (Main Selection -> Job State -> Restores). The restore overview provides detailed information on the last run of restore jobs, including task name, status (successful, error, in queue...), start and stop time of the last backup, data size, throughput, etc. For details, see SEP sesam Web UI or Restores by State in the GUI.
